LIBRARY SERVICES AND POLICIES
Who may use the Law Library?
The Law Library is available for use to the general public as well as legal professionals. However, access to computers and the Westlaw legal research system requires a Tom Green County Public Library Card.
Computer Assisted Research – Westlaw
The Library has several computer workstations available with Internet access that are free to use with your Tom Green County Public Library Card. We also offer two workstations with free access to Westlaw for conducting legal research, as well as access to the EBSCOHost Legal Collection.
Printers are available for public use at a fee of $.05 per page for black/white prints and $.25 per page for color prints. Copying is also available for $.10 per page for black/white prints, and scanning to email/media is also available for $.05 per page. A public fax machine is located on the first floor, and available for use.
Self-service public fax machine is located on the 1st floor of the Central Library. Credit/debit/check card is required to use the machine.
Reference services are available at our 2nd Floor Information Desk. Even though personnel are not trained to conduct legal research on patrons' behalf, they are available to help you locate your desired materials.
Study rooms are available for patrons requiring a quiet area to meet and/or study reference materials. Although the rooms are not soundproof, they do offer a quiet place away from the public areas. Study rooms can be reserved through our 2nd Floor Information Desk with your library card.
